John is highly organized with a proven record of accomplishment in leadership, management, business strategy and business development. To date, John has been recognized for achieving business growth, leading strategic initiatives and maintain highly effective relationships within all levels of organizations, internally and externally. John is highly skilled in the study of behavioral dynamics and communication styles within a team dynamic and is highly accomplished in deploying appropriate communications strategies to maximize a team’s ability to perform at a high-level. John has a reputation for being collaborative and respected for the professional development, coaching and mentoring of others so that they achieve next level results.
John has been a member of the Association of Corporate Travel Executives (ACTE) and the Global Business Travelers Association (GBTA) and the Canadian Professional Sales Association (CPSA). At WestJet, John was the Director of Corporate Sales tasked with establishing an effective and competitive Corporate Sales & Account Management team able to complete and succeed against aggressive competitors. John has a passion for recruiting, developing and promoting internal team members and created a high performing management team that grew confidence, revenue and market share against competition. John also established appropriate measurement (KPI’s) for team improvement and results. While working in his Sr. Leadership role, John and his team increased corporate revenue by over one hundred percent.
At Avis Budget, John was Director of Partnerships and Travel Sales. He set strategic growth initiatives that allowed his region to become the largest contributor to sales revenue in Canada. Additionally, John developed key relationships with airlines partners, commercial travel management partners, loyalty organizations and strategic industry associations. These strategic partnerships enabled long-term growth and development for the organization.
John has an undergraduate degree in History from Wilfrid Laurier University and a professional designation from the Canadian Professional Sales Association. John was also awarded with a certificate from the Schulich School of Business and is a certified Predictive Behavioral Index analyst from the Predictive Index Company.
John lives in Brampton Ontario with his wife, dog and cat. John is a committed weightlifter, hiker, history reader, an avid golfer and advocate of learning patience on a golf course.
