Robert (Bob) Peterson
Robert (Bob) is an experienced Senior Partner with a strong track record of building world-class operations and management consulting organizations. Bob brings a unique perspective to the Envision team and excels at a mix of strategy definition and delivery, industry thought leadership, building high performance teams.
In addition to strategy creation, Bob is skilled in operations excellence, bottom line performance improvement, digital strategies, and technology innovation. He has strong entrepreneurship experience with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Southern Methodist University, and undergraduate degrees in Physics (Carleton) and Electrical Engineering (Michigan Tech). In addition to working with large international firms, Bob currently coaches 4 Energy technology start-ups and is a senior advisor to a Houston-based technology PE firm, with an investment portfolio ranging from energy to biotech to aviation.
In his consulting career, as a founding partner of Schlumberger Business Consulting Bob was a member of the team that grew SBC from 0 to $150mm in global revenue, and helped position the firm as a recognized competitor to McKinsey. Major accounts included Saudi Aramco, Petrobras, Shell, Apache, Pemex, KOC, PTT, and Petronas. While at SLB, Bob also advised integral lines of business including Integrated Projects, Reservoir Management, and Digital solutions on product and marketing strategies.
He has recently led Oliver Wyman's energy consulting in North America with responsibility for building out the upstream business in Canada, Houston, and Mexico. He was accountable for hiring, marketing, client development, and project delivery, and worked with super-majors, large independents, National Oil Companies, and oil field service companies.
Prior to Oliver Wyman, Bob led CRA International's North American oil and gas practice and grew that business by 150% during his 6 year tenure there, focusing on strategy, operations improvement, and organizational effectiveness. Major clients included ConocoPhillips, Chevron, Suncor, Statoil, BP, Shell, and the Kuwaiti Oil Company.
In his industry career at ExxonMobil Bob headed technical services for the global exploration program as well as successively managed seismic acquisition, seismic processing, geophysical interpretation, and geoscience research divisions. He also led the merger integration team that created ExxonMobil’s new upstream technology organization, defining culture, leadership standards and operating procedures.
Bob lives in Plano Texas with his wife and dogs and enjoys volunteer work for the Humane Society, downhill skiing, training for short Triathlons, and reading any good history book.
