Kari Bjerke Cutting is the president and majority owner of Cutting Edge Consulting (CEC) LLC. CEC is engaged in business development, contract negotiations, capital souring,regulatory compliance consulting and leadership education opportunities.
Kari served as the vice president of the North Dakota Petroleum Council (NDPC) for ten years from 2011 to 2021. NDPC’s 500 member companies are involved in all aspects of oil and gas development in North Dakota.
Kari’s thirty-five plus year energy career spans a very diverse technical background in analytical chemistry, marketing, transportation, and regulatory aspects of all types of energy, as well as experience in many levels of leadership. Cutting holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of North Dakota, a master’s degree in management from Minot State University and is currently pursuing a PhD in organizational leadership from Liberty University, Lynchberg, Virginia.
Kari was appointed by ND Governor Burgum to serve on the North Dakota Pipeline Technical Advisory Committee, the Petroleum Tank Release Compensation Board, Federal Legislative Impact Advisory Committee, North Dakota Endangered Species and North Dakota Emergency Response Commission. Cutting was also appointed by the Environmental Protection Agency Administration to serve on the EPA Board of Scientific Counselors from 2018-2023.
