Rudi is an extraordinarily productive healthcare leader with a record of world-class outcomes and thought leadership in the areas of digital services, procurement, sustainability, and operational excellence.
Rudi is comfortable across many industries including infrastructure, healthcare, and edtech as well as in key business domains specifications, sustainability, project management, negotiations, contract law, capital policy, information technology, software, operational improvements, digital platforms, clinical and equipment planning and financial modeling.
He has a proven history of decisively analyzing challenges and then conceptualizing and operationalizing innovative solutions. In addition to strategy creation, he has strong entrepreneurship experience having started companies and led both start-ups and scale ups to success. Teams and projects that Rudi has led have been recognized with numerous municipal, provincial, national, and international awards including Best International Project.
Within his experience base are key roles on over $5B of healthcare project development which included the $1.4B Calgary Cancer Project and the $600m North Island Hospitals Project.
Having began his career at Accenture, Rudi then worked in government and crown agencies including at the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Forests and in Economic Development. After his tenure in the public sector, he launched and grew several companies in the private sector including as General Manager, COO and CEO.
His most recent roles include General Manager and Chief Operating Officer where he led Commercial Strategy, Marketing, Process Improvement, Customer Relations, Brand, Advertising and Promotions, Sales and Distribution, Government Affairs, Program Management and Strategic Partnerships with a variety of healthcare clients and practices.
Rudi has certifications in strategic change management, evidence-based design, and project management. He has also extensive executive education and practice in both lean process improvement and Lean 3P. In addition to his time living in BC and Alberta, Rudi spent a considerable amount of time travelling the world (visiting over 30 countries).
Core to Rudi’s success is his passion for practical solutions, strategic outlook, cross discipline integration, a laser focus on outcomes, not process, and his ability to build and lead high performance teams with the end goal in mind.
Rudi has been keynote speaker at healthcare, lean and project forums. He has a master’s degree in public administration with a focus on quantitative methods, economics and statistical analysis and an undergraduate degree in science the University of Victoria with a major in biology and a minor in archaeology.
Rudi lives in Calgary, Alberta with his wife, two children a cat and a dog and enjoys volunteer work, soccer, the Rocky Mountains, international travel and reading any delightful book.
