Ted Lafferty

Ted Lafferty is an experienced senior executive with over 27 years of operational and technical experience. He has a strong track record of strategy and organizational development for new and transitioning businesses. His expertise also includes performance excellence and digital transformation.
Ted recently worked as the Sr Vice President and Chief Technology Officer for NexTier Oilfield Solutions, where he oversaw the digital and technology transformation of operational cost and performance. In this role he was also responsible for managing internal manufacturing facilities, technical services, third party alliances, as well as the overall technical and technology strategy for the corporation.
Prior to joining NexTier, Ted worked as an executive consultant where he supported start up and developing technology and service companies in areas including organizational restructuring, technology, marketing, and IP strategy development. He also worked with small businesses on valuation modeling and acquisition negotiation strategies.
Before his consultant work, Ted worked for Schlumberger Oilfield Services for over 20 years and held many field and senior headquarter management roles, such as the Global Chief Technologist of Schlumberger’s Production Management business, the China Vice President of Schlumberger’s Production Services Group of companies, the Vice President for Schlumberger’s global Stimulation business, and Vice President of the Fracture Monitoring business. Ted’s experience includes engineering, operations, technology development, marketing, and business strategy. In his time with Schlumberger, he worked in many international assignments, living in Trinidad, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nigeria, China, UAE, and France and managed the start-up of a multiple new businesses and technology development centers. He was also involved in several acquisitions.
Ted has a BSc in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M and holds two US patents with an additional 10 US and International patents filed and in process. He is an Industry Board Member with the Texas A&M University Petroleum Engineering Department.
